The results were better than expected, as the average estimate of six analysts in a survey by the London Stock Exchange pointed to a loss of 81 billion yen. Nissan had recorded a profit of 31.1 billion yen in the same period last year. Japanese automaker Nissan Motor announced on Thursday that its operating profit in the third quarter fell by 44% to 17.5 billion yen (114.37 million dollars), amid intense competition the company is facing in markets such as the United States and China.
