A strong earthquake struck the Greater Tokyo region, authorities announced today, confirming there is no risk of a tsunami. According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the epicenter of the 5.0 magnitude earthquake was in Ibaraki Prefecture, at a depth of about 50 kilometers. The U.S. Geological Survey reported the earthquake's magnitude as 4.9. There have been no reports of damage or injuries yet.
