There are many large parks in the world, which provoke a dispute over the largest one, however, the title of the smallest park in the world now belongs to a park in Nagayazumi, Japan. Its area is only 2.5 square feet.
The park was created in a municipal building in the city of Nagayazumi, which is located during a car trip from Tokyo, in 1988. This idea was implemented by a former construction worker in Nagayazumi, returning from a trip to the United States. He saw Mill Ends Park in Portland, Oregon, which had previously been considered the smallest, with an area of 3.1 square feet.
"We wanted to create an even smaller park," said Shodzi Koyama, head of the construction department of the team, to the Guinness World Records magazine. The park was completed in 1988, but the official measurement of the park's area happened only in December.
Now the park in Nagayazumi is recognized as the smallest in the world. The park has grass, growing next to a small scale of a single person and an imitation of a doorway.
Shodzi Koyama noted: "We want to continue to care for the park with the help of the local community, and also create a more attractive natural landscape for social networks so that more people can discover the accessibility of our hometown."
