In September, global production and sales of "Toyota" decreased due to weak demand, particularly in the markets of Japan, China, and the USA.
As stated by the company, against the background of a global shortage of semiconductor chips, which affected the automotive industry, the overall production of "Toyota" vehicles in September fell to low levels. This led to a decline in sales, especially in Japan, China, and the USA.
"We faced serious problems in the supply chain due to the global shortage of semiconductor chips," the company's representatives stated. "This reflected on our production and sales, especially in the largest markets."
In Japan, production fell by 20%, while sales dropped by 35%. In China, the situation is similar: production decreased by 15%, and sales fell by 25%. In the USA, production diminished by 10%, and sales decreased by 20%.
Despite this, experts note that other automakers are also facing similar problems due to the shortage of semiconductor chips, which led to an overall reduction in vehicle production worldwide.
