The Japanese Nikkey index fell nearly 2% on Tuesday's close, as investors sold shares of Advanest and SoftBank following sharp gains in the stocks recently. 'Investors sold these shares after the recent rally,' said Naoki Fujiwara, chief fund manager at Shinkin Asset Management Management. The broader Topex index fell 0.65% to 3310.14 points. The Nikkey index fell 1.74% to close at 51497.2 points. Advanest, a manufacturer of chip testing equipment, fell 5.86%, and technology investor SoftBank fell 7.04%, having the biggest impact on the index's decline.
