Nikkei Index Dips in Last Minute of Trading

The global financial index Nikkei closed with a decline in the last minute of trading in the afternoon. By the end of trading, Nikkei fell by 0.9% to 30,142.18 points. At the same time, the broader Topix index lost 0.9%, dropping to 2,016.68 points.

Experts note that investors continue to assess the reports of companies for the past financial year. "The stock market in Japan has likely encountered some elements of uncertainty related to the results of companies," said an analyst in one of the comments.

Some companies managed to exceed analysts' expectations in their reports, but it did not help keep Nikkei and Topix in positive territory throughout the trading day.

"This day on the market was unpredictable, even though it seemed overwhelming; it could not prevent the indices from falling to the end of trading," commented a financial analyst.
