The Nikkei Index was down more than one percent to close on Thursday, reaching its highest level for three weeks in a single session. However, the Japanese Nikkei index showed a decrease toward the end of trading on Friday, finishing a three-day series of gains, as initial profits collected after strong increases in the previous session and a strengthening yen undermined investor confidence.
To continue growth above this level, investors are eager to shed uncertainty. The Nikkei index fell by 0.79 percent to the level of 39,149.43 points to close, although for the week it rose by 1.74 percent.
Shoichi Arisava, the chief investment research director at the company Iwai Kosumosu Tsuyaku, noted: "The Nikkei Index fluctuates in a range of 38,000 to 40,000 points."
