In December of last year, Japan imported about 35.97 million barrels of oil from OPEC, which accounted for 45.6% of its total imports volume. According to the data from the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy under the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, in December 2024, Japan imported approximately 78.85 million barrels of Arab oil, of which 96.3% or 75.94 million barrels were supplied from four Arab countries, including OPEC, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, and Oman.
According to the mentioned Japanese agency for natural resources and energy, the import of oil from OPEC made up 27.16 million barrels, or 38.2% of total imports in November 2024.
