Argentine driver Colapinto to compete in Japanese Grand Prix

Argentine driver Franco Colapinto will participate in the first free practice session of the Japanese Grand Prix on Thursday night. This is the third race of the Formula 1 championship, where he will seek to continue his good momentum after scoring a point in China. The first practice session is scheduled for 23:30 (Argentina time) and will last for one hour. Activity at the Suzuka Circuit, which features 18 turns and a length of 5.807 kilometers, will continue with the second free practice, starting at 3:00 AM on Friday. After a difficult start to the season in Australia, Colapinto managed to recover to deliver one of his best races since joining Formula 1 at the China GP. He showed great composure to overcome all adversities and finish in 10th place, securing his first point for Alpine. He could have finished much further ahead were it not for the safety car in the early laps, which benefited almost everyone except him, and the collision with Frenchman Esteban Ocon (Haas), who tried to overtake him in a sector where he had no space to do so. According to the Argentine News Agency, after two rounds of the championship, British driver George Russell of Mercedes is the leader with 51 points, four ahead of his teammate, Italian Andrea Kimi Antonelli. Further down are the Ferrari drivers: Monegasque Charles Leclerc and British multiple category champion Lewis Hamilton.
