Mexican athlete Ella Bucio continues to stand out internationally by winning the silver medal at the second edition of the Parkour World Championship, held in Kitakyushu, Japan. Originally from Mexico City, she achieved this recognition in the freestyle event by scoring the second highest in the qualifying round, as the final of this category was canceled due to adverse weather conditions. With a score of 30.2, Bucio claimed silver, coming in behind China's Chunsong Shang, who scored 33.1 points, and followed by Audrey Johnson from the United States with 27.4 points.
"I am happy to have won despite all those doubts," said Ella Bucio at the end of the competition in which she earned the gold medal. This is the fifth medal that the Mexican athlete has obtained in the current year's Parkour World Cup series, adding two gold medals, one silver, and two bronze. It's important to highlight that this was Bucio's second medal in the championship, having previously won the gold medal in the women's speed event. The 27-year-old athlete expressed about her participation: "It has been quite exhausting both physically and mentally due to calendar changes because of the weather and not knowing if we would compete or not. But in the end, if you don't try, you cannot succeed."
