Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO), the operator of the world's largest nuclear power plant, announced that the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa plant will resume operations today for the first time since the 2011 Fukushima disaster, despite ongoing safety concerns among residents. The company stated in a press release: 'We are continuing preparations for reactor operation and plan to remove control rods after 7:00 PM local time (10:00 GMT), followed by reactor startup.'
