According to the words of Japan's Defense Minister Gen Nakatani, the search for a 33-year-old man continues after the resurgence of a fire on the "Okushima" vessel in the waters southwest of Fukuoka.
Emergency services rescued other crew members, including 40 people, one of whom was injured. Nakatani indicated that 12 naval vessels joined the shore patrol ships and groups of divers for the search.
Japan canceled joint marine exercises with the U.S. on Tuesday, focusing on the search for the missing mariner after the sinking of a vessel-trawler.
